"If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin." (1 John 1:6-7)

The Bible
A mother once gave her son a Bible and she wrote these words inside the flyleaf: "This Bible will keep you from sin, or sin will keep you from this Bible." These words are so true. When we take the necessary time to read and study our Bible then we become more focused on what we need to do in order to live a righteous life, trying to please God in everything that we say and do. The Bible says, "Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth" (2 Timothy 2:15). There is no way that we can know how to properly divide God's Word unless we study God's Word. On the other hand, if we go about life living for ourselves, not caring about what God's will for us is, then we will easily get caught up in sin and find ourselves serving Satan rather than God. Everyone of us holds the key to life not only in this life, but in eternity. That key is the Bible. We must make a conscious and consistent effort to read and study our Bible on a daily basis so that we will not be ashamed when our final day on this earth comes. We must not let sin keep us from reading and heeding God's Holy and Inspired Word.
